Climb high above the surrounding coastal plain to the cool
quiet rainforests of Lamington Plateau. Visit Mount Tamborine with
its spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast and glistening waters
of the blue Pacific Ocean. An opportunity for morning tea and a leisurely
walk in the fresh mountain air. From here we head toward the " Green
Mountains" of O'Reilly's. Feel the history of this area
as we traverse old logging tracks and hear of the epic adventures of
those early settlers. Walk through the tree tops 16 metres above the
forest floor, view the ancient Antarctic Beach trees together with
a multitude of flora and fauna. Hand feed our native Rosella
parrots. Visit Canungra Valley Vineyards (owned by the O'Reilly
family) and sample some local fruits of the vine. Extend your stay
in this lovely mountain region and stay overnight in the Mountain
Lodge. Package includes 4WD touring and guided
walks.

En route to Fraser Island pass the Glasshouse Mountains and
the old mining town of Gympie. Your guide will explain the rich aboriginal
history and culture. You may see the wild dingoes that have made this
island wilderness their home. Spend some time on the world's most beautiful
highway-75 Mile Beach and experience the awesome splendour
of an uninterrupted beachfront. Stroll along the palm and fern studded
banks of Wanggoolba Creek, the most outstanding rainforest area on
Fraser Island. Visit the incredible freshwater lakes. Take a dip in the
crystal clear waters. Return to the southern end of the island via the
inland road then ferry back to the mainland. Reboard your coach for a
relaxing drive back to Brisbane or the Gold Coast, arriving home tired
and exhilarated. A stop for dinner (own expense) is made on the return
journey.

"3 DAY FABULOUS FRASER ISLAND AND KINGFISHER BAY RESORT "
Day 1
Depart Gold Coast or Brisbane and travel north
via Gympie. A brief stop in Rainbow beach where you
will join the 4WD
vehicle. Cross onto the island via Inskip Point, we drive off
the barge and straight onto 75 Mile Beach.
Transfer to your accommodation on the Western side of the island at Kingfisher
bay Resort.
Day 2
Following breakfast in the Maheno Restaurant,
Day 2 is free
to explore this beautiful location or take an optional tour.
Touring information is available on check in at the Resort.
Day 3
Check out of the accommodation and you will be
collected from the resort and taken back to the eastern side of the island
to explore the
island some more. Visit Central Station, a Perched Lake,
Wangoolba Creek and hear of the history of the island before
returning to the mainland.
A dinner stop is made in scenic Rainbow Beach(own
expense) enroute to your base.
