"UP, UP AND AWAY."
Experience Broome in a hot air balloon and appreciate the vast remoteness of the Australian Outback and the magnificent colours of Roebuck Bay - breath-taking!

Your Ballooning adventure begins in the cool pre-dawn darkness as you are collected from your hotel. After a 30 minute drive to the launch site you will get to know the crew as they make final weather checks and explain the routine for the day. At the launch site gas burners are used to inflate the balloons just as the sun lights up the sky.Once floating gently in the air you will appreciate the vast remoteness of the Australian Outback.

After landing you may become involved in assisting the crew as they pack the balloon back into its bag. You will then be transported to the bush campsite where you will be served a fresh breakfast accompanied by champagne and tropical fruit juice cocktails. You will then be transferred back to your hotel and given a commemorative flight certificate to complete your morning.

Due to the imposition of mandatory flight insurance by the Australian Government under the Air Carries Liability Act, and the rapidly increasing premiums in the Adventure industry, insurance is covered by a separate fee and can be paid by cash, credit card or travellers cheques on the morning of the tour.

Combine a terrific 'hands on' morning Aboriginal Cultural tour with an afternoon town tour of Broome. Learn about life in Broome from the perspective of local Aboriginal people contrasted with that of a European aspect in the afternoon.

Heading out of town to tidal flats and dunes bordering Broome's Roebuck Bay, you'll hear of the different periods of European settlement have brought changes to Aboriginal lifestyle. Your Aboriginal guides will show you old age customs and survival skills as you enjoy an easy walk learning of the medicinal and bush tucker properties of local trees. TOUR CODE TPWT1
"WINDJANA GORGE & TUNNEL CREEK ADVENTURE
A day experiencing inland Kimberley. Three of the Kimberley's well-known icons, the Prison Boab Tree, Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek leave you with a great insight into this remote and fascinating part of outback Australia.

We set off on our journey heading north to Willare Bridge, we cross the mighty Fitzroy River and make a visit to one of the Kimberley's most famous landmarks the Prison Boab Tree, once used to house convicts. Whilst here we also view Myall's Bore; a 120 metre long trough built in the early 1900's used to water up to 1,000 head of cattle at one time. We leave the coast and travel inland along the famous ' Gibb River Road', once used as the main stock route for the region, before turning off to the pre-historic Windjana Gorge, regarded as one of the classic features of world geology and a great freshwater crocodile spotting site.

From here we head to Tunnel Creek, an amazing 750 metre long flooded tube tunnel. We take an exciting walk through the tunnel wading through knee to thigh high water in some sections and hear the story of Jandamarra. Following afternoon tea, we set off back to Broome with arrival approximately 10.30 pm after an en route dinner stop (own expense).

Important Note: Accessing Tunnel Creek walk involves 20 metres of clambering over boulders and 700 metres of wading through knee to thigh high water (shorts are ideal). Strap on sandals or old sandshoes must be worn through the water as the rocky creek bed can cause cuts. To safely navigate the tunnel passengers must be able to walk and balance themselves independently on uneven ground. Torches are provided.

Tour departs Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

Travelling Tip: Enhance your experience of the Kimberley and take the overnight tour 2 day Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek & Geikie Gorge Aboriginal Adventure. You'll experience everything on both the Windjana & Tunnel Creek day tour plus everything on the Geikie Gorge day tour eliminate over 600 kilometres of travel, get home at 6.30 pm at the end of the tour and enjoy a 3 hour version of the Aboriginal Cultural tour at Geikie. Great value, with extra meals and accommodation included.
